Confidentiality and its limits

What you discuss in counselling is generally kept confidential. This means I will not normally share information about you without your consent.

There are some circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, for example where there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to you or someone else, where there is a safeguarding concern, or where I am legally required to disclose information.

Where possible and appropriate, I would aim to discuss this with you beforehand.

I also attend regular professional supervision. When discussing my work in supervision, I take apporpirate steps to protect your identity and confidentiality.
